The Unknown Will Be Removed Today!
Today was surgery day!
During our two hour drive we put on praise music and began praying in the spirit. After a while we began to sense a very powerful, tangible presence of the Lord upon us as we drove to the hospital. As the Lords’ presence came strongly upon us, all concern and anxiety was gone, leaving only a beautiful sense of optimism, peace, and a strong sense of confidence.
We were reminded of the fact that God sits in his heavenly courtroom. As “intercessors,” we have the right to come before him and “plead our case” for justice against our adversary. (See Luke 18:6)
So we began pressing our case in the courtroom of heaven, interceding for God’s intervention against our enemy and making declarations about the day before us and the ultimate outcome of this skirmish.
Then the Holy Spirit began giving us clear words of revelation and wisdom.
The enemy’s strategy against believers with sickness always seems to involve the suggestion of fearful, foreboding thoughts concerning loss and failure. His hope and intent is that we will agree with him rather than agreeing with the word of God. If we agree with the devil’s suggestions, we play right into his hand, giving him the legal right to influence the outcome because of our authority. We will receive what we agree with. (See Proverbs 18:21)
In a situation like ours, we’ve been waiting for today in a posture of declaration and interecession, commanding the devil to flee. As always, the enemy has sought to use the unknown as an environment in which to make suggestions that contradict God’s will for Judah’s health.
As we drove, I heard the Holy Spirit say, “The unknown will be removed today!”
I saw a vision in my spirit of several angels gathered around the surgeon. I saw them actually doing the surgery with the surgeon. I also had a sense that they would be doing additional things that the surgeon couldn’t even see or understand.
A few moments later, I had a glimpse of a large battalion of angels. I couldn’t see how large the battalion was, but I sensed that it was a very impressive force.
Then I heard the Holy Spirit say, “Only a very small portion of the angels standing by to serve you will be needed for this event.” (See Hebrews 1:14)
I sensed in my spirit the Lord saying, “You won’t need to deploy all of the resources at your disposal to turn back this attack. They won’t all be necessary.”
It reminded me of 2 Kings 6:16 when the prophet Elisha told his servant that the angel armies of God had completely outnumbered the opposing force.
We drove the rest of the way to the Texas Children’s Hospital and moved through the process in peace.

Okay!
We’re just out of surgery and the procedure went just fine. The doctor removed one of the 2 enlarged lymph nodes in Judah’s neck and was able to immediately run a preliminary analysis of the material and gave us her initial prognosis…
Although a more complete analysis is forthcoming, today’s preliminary analysis of the enlarged lymph node material strongly indicates the presence of cancer in Judah’s thyroid gland, which is in the front of his throat.
The doctor seemed actually relieved when she shared this prognosis because, from a purely medical perspective, thyroid cancer is a comparatively easy one to beat compared to other versions. The doctor’s plan is to remove some or all of the thyroid as soon as we reasonably can. No chemo, no radiation.
So, now we know! The “Unknown” has been removed today, indeed.
Deborah and I know that cancer is an enemy that must be engaged with relentless aggression using every weapon at our disposal including the best medical means available. More importantly, we will use spiritual weapons with divine power to demolish the position of our foe.
So, in the days and weeks preceding the surgery we will commence an aggressive prayer and fasting regime.
Common, team! Let’s fight, let’s win!
